The Duke of Edinburgh’s Practice Expedition

The Year 10 D of E participants worked extremely hard during their practice expedition and showed great determination throughout.  During the expedition pupils practiced their orienteering skills and camping skills such as setting up a tent, cooking with a trangia, and packing bags.  Pupils also delegated roles and responsibilities as soon as they arrived at the camp site showing great teamwork. The activity providers, Bright Expeditions, were highly impressed with the pupils positive attitude that not even heavy rain could dampen on the first day.

“I feel much more confident with my orienteering skills thanks to the practice expedition. I am looking forward to the qualifying expedition!”

Tulsi Vaid – Year 10

“One of my best moments was camping together with my group, everyone worked as a team and we really bonded”

Elizabeth O’Shea – Year 10

The qualifying  assessed expedition will be from the 17th-18th June 2017.

Good luck to all D of E participants!
