On Thursday 6 July we held our annual Speech Day and Prize Giving, the perfect opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and successes of our pupils throughout the year.
The event took place in Chingford Assembly Hall, and this year we had a very special guest speaker, Hannah Newman. Hannah attended Normanhurst from 1995 to 2007, and kindly agreed to come in a inspire us all with tales of what she has been getting up to since leaving the school, while also bringing back very fond memories for some. It was great to hear her talk about her experiences and gave the pupils a lot to think about.
As well as the huge array of prizes that were awarded, the evening was filled with many performances and musical numbers. The orchestra impressed the crowd of friends and family with the ‘Half Minute Waltz’, the Junior Rock Band performed ‘Come Together’ byt Lennon and McCartney while the Senior Rock Band provided a great finale with ‘Living on a Prayer’.
We are very proud of our Heads of School, Maya and Max, who both gave very moving speeches about their time at Normanhurst. We wish the new Heads of School, House Captains and Prefects the best of luck next year.
It was a fantastic evening full of proud pupils, staff, friends and family. Congratulations to all of our prize winners!
