GCSE Pupils Receive Top Marks!

Once again we had a fantastic morning with some very excited pupils, parents and staff celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results for Year 11 pupils. 95% of grades achieved were at A* to C, or at grade 4 and above in English and Maths.  Nearly half of all grades, 49% were either A* or A or at grades 7 to 9 in the new GCSEs.

Pupils achieved 100% A* to C grades in subjects such as Art, Graphics, History, Drama, IT, RS and the three sciences Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Claire Osborn, Headmistress, is delighted; “The students and staff have worked very hard over the past two years to achieve these results and their hard work, commitment and perseverance has enabled them to record some excellent achievements.  We are particularly delighted with the outcomes in the new English and Maths exams taken for the first time this year.

There were several outstanding individual performances with Khush gaining 8 A* or A grades, Gloria and Maya each gaining 6 A* or A grades and each gaining the exceptional new grade 9 in the English Literature exam. Joe, Taylor and Grace also gained 6 A* or A grades.

I’m proud to be able to see them join their future sixth form colleges and schools well-equipped for life beyond Normanhurst”.
