A Bus to Alabama

To commemorate Black History Month, Year 3 learnt about Rosa Parks, and why she famously refused to move out of her seat on the bus.  Year 3 embarked on their journey to Montgomery, Alabama, on their custom-made bus in Mr Grant’s classroom.  They learnt about why black and white people were segregated in America, and why Rosa Parks stood up (or sat down!) against these unfair rules.

John said “It was a really important lesson, and Mr Grant showed us why it was unfair to treat people different, just because of the way someone looks.”
