Year 1 are learning all about the History of Flight and famous Aviators in History this term. As part of the topic, a former pupil and First Officer, Eren Nasib, came into school to speak with the children about his career as a pilot.
Mr Nasib spoke to the children about how he learnt to fly planes, what happens inside the ‘flight deck’ and how planes have numbers, according to how big they are.
The children were then able to look at model aeroplane and wear the headphones Mr Nasib would wear while in flight.
Everyone was very excited to ask questions and speak with Mr Nasib during his visit. They were also so impressed that he was also a pupil here at Normanhurst and did some of his learning in the same classroom!
