Art club participants were busy putting the finishing touches to their beautiful mosaic landscapes.
Pupils looked at Impressionist paintings focussing on the work of Claude Monet. They looked closely at the way Monet used gestural brush strokes to create vivid colours and textures depicting changes in light. The pupils responded to this by first creating mosaic shapes using small coloured ceramics which they glued to the canvas board. They then added acrylic paint using flat brushes to build layers of colour and contours echoing the shapes of the mosaics with stunning results.
