2010 Prospective Pupils
Entry into the Nursery
Children are usually admitted during the term in which they are 3. There is a three-term entry system, with the majority of children starting in the Autumn Term as long as they are dry.
Children start with a minimum of three sessions and have the opportunity to increase their time with us over the course of the academic year. They are expected to attend full time mornings and afternoons by the Summer Term before they start in Reception.
Entry into the Junior School
Entry into the Junior School from Year 1 is by interview and classroom observation. From Year 3 there is also a short Entrance Examination.
Entry into the Senior School
For entry into Year 7 and beyond, prospective pupils are required to sit an Entrance Examination followed by an interview. Candidates will be tested in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
The School is looking for pupils who show potential as well as those who are academically able. We also look to pupils who are particularly talented in Music, Art, Drama or Sport. We are looking for confident, well-rounded children.
Scholarships
Part scholarships may be awarded as a result of the examination and interview process.
Special Considerations
If your child has any particular learning difficulty or disability of which we should be made aware, please let us know prior to the examination date and we will endeavour to make any reasonable provisions.
Open Days and Entrance Examinations
There is an annual Open Evening normally held during the first week in October, and an Open Morning in the Spring Term. The dates will be published in advance. Parents and families are very welcome to visit the school and speak with the Headmistress at any time during the academic year.
