Normanhurst School is the second highest achieving school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest according to the latest Department for Education official school performance league tables.
93% pupils achieved at least 5 GCSEs A* - C
79% pupils achieved at least 5 GCSEs A* - C including English and Mathematics
Average number of GCSE or equivalent entries per pupil: 9.5
Average point score per pupil: 350
Results for 2011
Celebrating Success at GCSE
Results are a cause for celebration once again at Normanhurst School. We are pleased to announce an increase in the percentages of pupils in Year 11 gaining good grades at GCSE this year:
86% pupils gained 5 or more GCSEs at grade C or above
80% pupils gained at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including one English and Mathematics
93% pupils gained at least a C grade in Mathematics
86% pupils gained at least a C grade in English
100% pupils gained at least a C grade in English Literature
79% pupils gained at least 2 Science GCSEs at grade C or above, with 100% pupils gaining A*/B in Physics.
Every pupil who studied a modern language GCSE (French or Spanish) gained at least a C grade and achieved or exceeded their target grade. An impressive 50% French results were A*/A, and 43% Spanish results were A*/A.
Every pupil who studied Art gained at least a B grade with 50% achieving A*.
Similarly every pupil who studied History achieved or exceeded their target with at least a B grade, and 66% achieved A*.
Our congratulations go to all the pupils for their hard work and their success. They move on from us to a number of local schools and colleges, both independent and state, to pursue a range of A levels and other courses. We look forward to hearing about their future successes.
