On Thursday 27 March the Oak-Tree Group of Schools held its third biennial Music and Dance Festival when pupils from Coopersale Hall, Oaklands and Normanhurst Schools came together to provide parents and guests with an evening of vocal, instrumental, dance and dramatic items, as well as a joint three-schools finale.
Over 70 Normanhurst pupils performed in the festival – pieces ranged from ‘petit cirque’ with gym, dance and circus skills to a jazz rendition of ‘Funny Valentine’ performed by McKinley and Yazmin; choir items included ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Love Lifts us Up’ as well as a medley from ‘Peter Pan’.
The evening culminated in a rousing rendition of ‘Consider Yourself’ performed by all three Oak-Tree Schools.
It was an excellent evening in which pupils performed to a packed audience in Hawkey Hall.
