The Year 11 prefect gave their first assembly of the year to our Senior pupils. They chose to speak about developing confidence and becoming a leader. They had recently attended a Young Leaders conference at Forest School and wanted to share some of the inspiring and motivating ideas with their peers.
One of the messages that the prefects conveyed in their assembly was that we are all capable of making a positive change our school community. In order to achieve this we need to embrace our individualism and not be afraid to make mistakes when we are trying. Gloria shared a poignant quote by Basketball legend Michael Jordan in which he states,
“I’ve missed over 9,000 shots in my career.
I’ve lost almost 300 games.
26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed.
I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life.
And that is why I succeed.”
