Year 5 went on a harvest farm to fork trail at Tesco in Waltham Abbey. We learnt about seasonal vegetables and where they come from and how food from other countries travel to us. We also learnt how to preserve food and we even got to taste some different foods. We looked at the different between plain flour and wholemeal flour and tried it in a bread. We even got to go to the Warehouse and the Warehouse freezer, we felt like we were at the North Pole! Tesco set us some homework to make a harvest soup which we cannot wait to cook and eat!
