There was an oasis of calmness and reflection in the music room during lunchtime this Monday. Ben in Year 11 has just launched a mindfulness lunchtime club taking place every Monday lunchtime. The first session was well attended with pupils from Year 7-11 participating.
Ben led the session in which he used a Tibetan Singing Bowl. The pupils listened to each chime of the bowl and had some time to clear their heads and focus on their breathing.
Mindfulness is increasingly practiced in schools across the country and is proven to help pupils develop focus and manage their emotional well-being.
