Year 3 and 4 Spun Candy Trip

Year 3 and 4 had a fascinating trip to ‘Spun Candy’ on Friday 26 January to take part in a sweet workshop! Spun Candy is a London based sweet shop and factory that produces handmade rock candy and confectionery.

The masterclass taught the pupils the art behind candy making. They got the opportunity to watch as a master candy maker heated the sugar, added the colours and flavours and crafted the sweets into a rainbow creation.

They learnt about the ingredients needed to make a spiral lollipop and then tried their hand at making a lollipop themselves. The children twisted their candy into a range of different shapes including twisters, hearts, stars and even a snail!

Charlie T. said, “The smell was amazing!”

Charlie C. commented on how he enjoyed the taste test the most.
