A Study of Vincent van Gogh by Year 5

Year 5 have been working on perfecting their ‘Starry Night’ artwork by Vincent van Gogh for the past few weeks.

First pupils coloured in a pre-drawn version before drawing their own. They then used watercolour to carefully fill in their outlines. The class learnt about mixing colours and using different brush strokes to achieve a variety of painting styles. Pupils were all very proud of their work and wanted to show it off for Mr Beint and Miss Barnard who visited the class this week.

In order to write a brief biography of the artist, pupils conducted some research of their own. They were about to answer all the questions Miss Barnard and Mr Beint had for them when they quizzed them on him!
