Year 6 went on a nature walk to collect different samples from each plant group (fern, conifer, flowering plants, moss and algae). The children needed to remember the features of each type and decide what belonged to which group (i.e. whether a leaf is of a fern or a conifer). Finding moss was the most challenging of all! The rain tried to ruin the trip but everyone was prepared with umbrellas and rain coats!
Pupils then went back to class and sketched samples of each groups in their Science books.
