Year 5 Trip to the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge

On Wednesday 7 November Year 5 visited the Queen Elizabeth’s hunting lodge to go orienteering through history in our local forest. They split into three different groups and had to navigate their way through the historic events that shaped Epping Forest. Their mission was to find artefacts and oral history clues and use them to create a timeline, opening a window into the past. They learnt many skills including using maps and compasses and orienteering. Year 5 had a lovely morning and all commented on the new skills they learnt and that they enjoyed spending time in the forest.
