Year 6 children are learning about Bridget Riley, an English painter who is one of the foremost exponents of Op art. They have been looking at how she merges shapes and vivid colours to stimulate people’s mind to alter the perception of her paintings.
The children had an introduction to the topic by learning about optical illusion. Here are some of the examples of their work. They had a lot of fun testing out their finished pieces in order to see if they calculated the angles and directions of the lines correctly!
