Year 1 Enjoy Science Week

Last week was British Science Week, which this year had a focus on ‘Science in the real world.’ Year 1 had a great time, and took part in a range of interactive workshops. After an assembly all about Science Week, the children met ‘Mad Mac’ for a Sublime Science workshop where the children had the chance to make their own slime! Pupils then became forensic scientist, working as a group to piece together evidence and solve a crime!

As well as these workshops, held in the church near the school, the Year 1 also took part in a wide range of other Science related activities. They explored how parachutes work, exploded volcanoes and experimented with the colour of skittles. It was a week filled with fun and learning, much enjoyed by all the pupils!
