Poems at the Spinney

In honour of poetry week, a group of children from Years 1-6 went to the Spinney on Friday 4 October to share and perform some of their favourite poems. The children each did a wonderful job of reading their poems and took the opportunity to have a chat to the residents about poems and rhymes that held a fond memory to them. There were some familiar favourites that span across all of the generations!

At the end of the session we were treated to an amazing recital from 96 year old Stan who shared one of his favourite poems which he performed and recalled from memory. The children were very impressed and he even gave us some tips to improve our own performing skills!
