Year 6 ‘Movement’ Artwork

Year 6 worked on their ‘Movement’ themed art work. They designed their silhouettes in various action poses to capture motion. They carefully thought how the bodies and limbs would be depicted to represent movement. Some children chose to design silhouettes of animals and some worked on humans such as footballers and dancers. First, they drafted their rough ideas and trialed different designs on paper. Then, they cut out their silhouettes using card. Using BluTack very strategically to block out any paint to go under their silhouettes, they stuck their designs on paper before painting them with water colours. Once peeled, their design will reveal a plain patch amongst the sea of vivid colours. Children used various brushing techniques and are looking forward to revealing their final designs once they are ready to be peeled off.
