To launch Black History Month at Normanhurst, we held a special assembly. During the slideshow it was explained to pupils what Black History Month is and why it is celebrated and pupils were introduced to key figures in black history, including former astronaut Mae Jemison and many sporting stars.
It was a great way to kick off Black History Month, and pupils have enjoyed many of the learning activities that have followed.
