For their Remembrance Day activities, Year 1 learned about the significance of the poppy and why we wear one. Firstly, they drew their own poppies and then used red, black and green tissue paper to decorate it. They looked fantastic when they were finished! Year 1 also learned about Remembrance Day in Guided Reading by reading lots of interesting facts about why we commemorate Remembrance Day as an annual event.
They then joined the Early Years to mark the 2-minute silence and spent time discussing Remembrance Day. Well done Year 1.
