Year 6 children have been working on the theme ‘Birds’ in Art this half term. They worked really hard with depicting fine details in their artwork. They started the unit with drafting bird feathers in the first week and moved onto sketching birds the weeks after that. This then led pupils to working with clay to make ‘bird inspired’ tiles. Some children did various feather designs on their tile and some children decided to move their bird drawings onto clay and tackled the challenges the clay presented as they copied their drafts from their artbooks.
It was a messy yet fun session, where children had a chance to apply their various skills to their clay work. Great work Year 6!
