Along with the rest of the Juniors, Year 6 has been enjoying a different approach during their spelling lessons this year and making them more interactive in various ways. Whilst children were learning -able patterns in words a couple of weeks ago, they played a coordinates game with dice where they tried to score as many points as possible by not only spelling them correctly but also by using them in sentences accurately. This engaged all our pupils who became very competitive and had a lot of fun! Spelling lessons are now where a lot of laughter is heard during the learning and practice of new spelling words. The weekly spelling scores have gone up and we’re proud of our Year 6 children’s spelling progress!
