Health and Wellbeing Activities

At Normanhurst, pupils from Reception to Year 7 were invited to express their feelings, thoughts and ideas in creative ways, by choosing from a range of activities which they could take part in from 2pm each day.

The many emails that were sent in by pupils showed the diverse ways they chose to take screen breaks and do something positive for their mental health. We were hugely impressed by all the creative activities (the photos of some amazing baking were particularly mouth-watering!).

So many pupils have embraced the different activities and the challenges.  Well done and thank you for making time to express yourself!

Coronavirus, and the measures to control it, have brought many changes to children and young people’s lives, especially to those areas which we know to be important for their mental health and wellbeing. Expressing yourself is about finding creative ways to share feelings, thoughts or ideas.  This may be through painting, journaling, dancing, or maybe just having a chat with a friend.
