Reception Humanities Week

Reception had a wonderful Humanities week.

They enjoyed reusing recycled materials to create something new. Ahmet created a washing machine that he used to wash our smelly socks.

Other children also really enjoyed creating a monster using playdough as well as drawing and creating their own one.

They enjoyed the story’s from the author Katherine Wheatly and planted the tag from her into our plant pot in the classroom as it contained seeds. We were all in awe that the paper was made from elephant poo!! We even watched a video to find out how it was made. Did you know, an elephant poos between 15 and 20 times a day! Inspired by this, we decided to create our own class paper (without the elephant poo). We followed instructions to create pulp, then we added some coloured paper to make it brighter. We were impressed by our beautiful finished paper!
