Once again, Normanhurst School is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results for Year 11 pupils. 96% of grades achieved were at grade 4 or above, equivalent to a previous grade C or higher, with 62% at grades 7-9, equivalent to the previous grades A*or A.

Once again the pupils achieved particularly well in maths, combined sciences, Geography and the creative and performing arts with 100% passes in English, Art, Business Studies, individual sciences, Computer science, French, Graphics, History, Spanish, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Headmistress Jacqueline Job is incredibly proud of the pupils’ achievements: “This year has been an incredibly challenging year for our pupils and I am incredibly proud of their hard work, resilience and commitment towards their studies.

There were some excellent individual performances: Emily achieving 9’s in all 9 subjects, Hamza, Will and Alexa achieved 9 passes with 8 at Grades 8 or 9, Crystal and Sam achieved 9 passes with 7 at Grades 8 or 9, Lucy and Reuben achieved 8 grades 7-9 and many others achieved 5 grades 7-9 among their haul.

I am pleased to be able to see pupils progress onto the next stage of their education, with a thirst for learning and determination to succeed. Their success is very well-deserved and is a testament to the pupils and teachers. They are well equipped and ready to continue learning, as well-rounded and good citizens. They leave Normanhurst to join some outstanding schools and colleges, as well as some apprenticeship programmes.  I wish them all the very best for the future”.
