Once again responding to the children’s interest about the body, today we created our very own blood in a jar. We used marshmallow for the white blood cells, sweeties for the red blood cells, oil for the plasma and rice for the platelets. The children enjoyed mixing all the different parts together by shaking the jar. We then had lots of fun making red and white blood cells using playdough and using the white dough to eat up all of the the germs. Finally, the children shared the favourite part of their learning in their literacy books.
