Year 4 Trip To Lambourne End

As part of their Science topic for the Summer Term, Year 4 embarked on a pond dipping trip to Lambourne End. They were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day for their trip. After a warm welcome at the site, the children were split into two groups. The first group took part in a pond dipping activity. They had a few hours to discover what was lurking in the water. The children found some extraordinary creatures. Most notably baby newts, a selection of molluscs, and numerous larva.

Simultaneously, the other group was discovering the beautiful grounds at Lambourne End on an orienteering trail. After a short break, the groups swapped round. The children who were following the orienteering trail stumbled across the on-site farm. They were shown around by the staff and lucky enough to meet the giant tortoise.

After a well-deserved lunch, the children spent some time enjoying the trim trail. Before departing back to school at the end of the day.
